Summary

Machalilla National Park and their communities is considered one of the sites of great importance for bird watchers as it is part of the ecoregion called "TUMBESINA" and having a part of the Chongon Colonche mountain range as well as a diversity of habitat and number of species that can be found in the tropical dry forest, wet forest, forest of garua, estuaries and rivers. Identified alrrededor of 650 species of birds in specific sites such as the Valley of the Río Buena vista surrounded by dry and tropical forest where common motmots are blue headband, ovenbirds, various types of falcons, chiefs, Witcher birds etc.

Forest wet of Guayacan of monkeys and Golden Ball where woodcreeper, woodpeckers, parrots, partridges can find birds and eagles, and the trails of the Rio Ayampe where we can find species considered endemic as Estrellita Esmeralda the second Hummingbird more small world, toucans, arazari, plovers, phalaropes, tiles etc.

Itinerary

5h30: Departure from Puerto Lopez with direction to the bird watching site. It may be the Buenavista river valley, Guayacan de los monos trail and Ayampe river.
6h00: Start of the bird watching tour through trails where there is a greater concentration of bird species.
9:30: Box Lunch.
10h30: Culmination of the tour.
